St. John’s-St. Luke Evangelical United Church of Christ is part of the Detroit Metropolitan Association of the Michigan Conference, United Church of Christ.
St. John’s-St. Luke Evangelical UCC was founded on August 18, 1833 under the leadership of Rev. Friedrich Schmid. The church has great historic significance as it was a part of the underground railroad, assisting many slaves across the Detroit River to freedom in Canada. The church celebrated its 180th anniversary as a congregation in 2013. The congregation is currently being served on alternating weeks by the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Womack and Rev. John Martin.
We look forward to meeting you and sharing more about what St. John’s-St. Luke Evangelical UCC has to offer!
